My hubby's latest....

So my husband always like to try new things, and start new hobbies. Some of the things he tries, he does for a long time, and some don't last so long (like tying flies). So we have lots of stuff around our house for Chad's "projects". Well his latest project is actually pretty cool....I think anyway. Chad has always been an outdoorsy person. Loves to hunt, fish, and that sort of stuff. That last couple of years he's really gotten into "shed hunting". So out of some of his collection, he decided to make a lamp. I have to say that for his first time, he did a great job. He drilled the insides out, and ran all the wires through the inside of the antlers, so no wires are showing. Of course he had to buy the rashide lampshade to go with it.

So here's the finished project. Who knows....maybe he'll start to sell them and make lots of money!!!

Spring time fun...at least I wish anyway....

Apparently my kids couldn't wait any longer for spring to come and to go outside and play. So the other day at Grandma and Grandpa's, Canyon went out and shovled a pathway to the swingset. They stayed out there for quite awhile and played. I can't wait until it warms up enough to actually enjoy going outside!!!

Happy Valentine's a Day late...

I never got around to posting a Valentine's post yesterday. The day was a little hectic. It started out with me and Ryker going to Canyon's school for his Valentine's party. All went well except the fact that the mother who planned the whole thing was a half hour late for the party, for the second time!!! (keep in mind, they've only had 2 class parties!!....yes....40 minutes late for the first one, and only 30 minutes late for the second one). As you can tell, I wasn't irritated at all. Anyway....after ignoring the fact that his room rep is an idiot, the party went well, and the kids had fun. I guess I really shouldn't complain about the room rep, but if you aren't capable of handling something...DON'T volunteer for it!!! Okay....i'm done venting now.....

So....After school got out, and Chad got home from the gym, we decided to go to lunch for Valentine's instead of dinner. That way we didn't have to deal with all the crowds and lines. We went to my favorite place....Olive Garden....that always make me happy. Of course the kids went with us on our "romantic" lunch date. Then we went shopping for a bit, and just hung out. We ordered pizza for dinner, and then did some cookies with the kids.

Note....For I think the first time EVER...Chad and I actually sat by each other instead of us both sitting by a kid......see....it really was romantic!!!

Don't mind the cookie dough wrapper in the picture....I've never claimed to be Better Crocker....and my kids attention wouldn't last long enough to make the dough AND cook the cookies....so the pre-made dough works great!!!

Finally....Canyon lost some teeth!!

So last night, I'm helping Canyon get his teeth brushed. He tells me that he can feel something behind his front bottom teeth. I look...and sure enough, his permanent teeth have broke through behind his baby teeth. I call the dentist first thing this morning, and we go in to have them take a look, and make sure all is okay. Well....the dentist doesn't seem to think that with how the permanent teeth are coming in, that they'll push the baby teeth out like they should. SO....we got the news I was dreading hearing....they were going to need to pull his teeth. They happened to have time then, so I said go ahead!!! I think Canyon was a little shocked. I don't think he expected anything like that at all.

A little closer look. Yucky...i know....but you can see his permanent teeth, so i thought I'd post this one too!! He's feeling much better now than he was earlier, and he can't wait for the tooth fairy to visit him tonight. He told me he thought he deserved $100 for having to have them pulled at the dentist!! What is the going rate for the Tooth Fairy now days anyway???

Enough Already.....

Okay...I don't mind shoveling...in fact, sometimes I quite enjoy it....but when I've been shoveling for what seems like everyday for the last TWO MONTHS......ENOUGH is ENOUGH!!! It can stop snowing anyday now!!! Here's a pic of my house a few days ago....
