SUPERMAN!!!!

So I took my boys to my sister Jeri's house today to get their hair cut. Once they were done, we decided to go to the school Halloween carnival with them. Of course, Jeri's new little grandson Cayden had to join in on the fun. Isn't he the cutest Superman ever!!!!

Here's a cute little video of him flying, but stupid me....I made the video landscape and it didn't occur to me that I wouldn't be able to flip it to portrait like I can my pictures, so just image that he's upright. Don't mind my instructions to Jeri either....I'm VERY amateur at the video thing. (I know...I'm a dork).

Coolest Haunted House ever...

So since Chad was home tonight, we decided to decorate the Gingerbread Haunted House we've had for a couple of weeks. The kids were so excited. Here's a few pics from tonight.

SOOO Glad Soccer's over...

So yesterday was Canyon's last soccer game for this season. I had a very enjoyable time watching him this fall, but boy am I glad that we don't have to go to anymore games until spring. It's been so bitter cold at the last few games, and I was so miserable on the sidelines, I could only image how cold Canyon was out on the field. I did have him bundled up good, so hopefully it wasn't too bad for him. Luckily yesterday, they only played half the game, so I didn't have to sit out there as long as I could have. Hopefully the weather will be a little more pleasant at the games, when they start again in the spring.

Here's Canyon all bundled up and ready to play. They other team only had two players, so Canyon volunteered to play on their team so that they'd be able to play the game. What a good sport!!! He's a great kid!!!

Halloween Adventures

So the last couple of days, we've been getting in the Halloween spirit. Last night Chad wanted to take the kids to the corn maze. The boys were both so excited. We got all bundled up and headed out. At the corn maze, they had this big slide set up. They kids couldn't resist going down that a few times before we headed into the maze. Once we finally got them talked into going into the maze, Canyon lead us out in a matter of minutes. So Chad made us go back in (through the exit), so we could get our money's worth. The kids (and Chad) had a great time scaring each other. It was a fun night. Of course it was dark, so taking pics was a little difficult, but here's a few.

The next adventure was today. I took the boys and Canyon's friend Austin to the Treehouse Museum for the "Enchanted Woods" Halloween adventure. It was really fun. They gave all the kids a coloring book and a trick or treat bag when they got there. They went around to different little stations, where there were people dressed up the told a story to them. Once they were done with each story, the story character would give the kids a little something to remember them by. They came home with a whole bag of goodies. Hopefully we'll be able to do a few more fun Halloween things before the holiday is over.

Field Trip to the Gateway

Today, Canyon got to go on his first field trip. They went to the Discover Gateway. He was so excited to be able to ride the school bus all the way to Salt Lake. I was able to go on the field trip with him, but fortunately there wasn't enough seats on the bus for the parents, so I got to drive down myself. I was okay with that since there were 64 kids that went, and I couldn't imagine having to ride in the noisy bus with all of them. The museum was so much fun, and they had way too many things for the kids to do. Here's some pics of a few of the act ivies Canyon did. I would highly recommend going there if you have kids.

After lunch he loaded on the bus to head home. I'm sure he'd love to do it again.

Weekend Getaway

Over the weekend the kids and I (along with my sister Becky, my brother Brad, and my sister-in-law Andrea) were able to go and visit my brother Dan and his family in Burley. There was a baby shower for Jenn on Friday, but we decided to stay until Sunday to hang out with them for a while. It was a lot of fun. They just barely finished building a Fairfield Inn in Burley, so we decided we'd try it out. We invited my niece, Krystal, to stay at the hotel with us since her brother Josh and his wife Jenn were going to be staying at her house, and she so kindly gave her bed to them. Anyway...Friday night we went to Jenn's shower, and then just went back to the hotel and swam for a little while. Nothing too exciting. Saturday we went to Gossner's Cheese factory...(I thought it was a little factory with a tour...no it was just a cheese store). After that we were just wasting time, so we decided we'd go to Wal-mart. Brad and Andrea had a great idea for a game to play while we were there. We wrote every one's name on a piece of paper and then drew names. We had to buy something for the person who's name we drew, and we could only spend $5, and we only had 15 minutes. It sounded kinda corny at first, but it was tons of fun. After we got done shopping, we went back to the hotel, so everyone could open their present. Krystal had so much fun, we wanted everyone else at her house to try it, so we did it again later that night at the Dollar Store with lots more people. After we were done shopping there, we went back to Dan and Diane's to open gifts, and then just played games for a while until we decided to back to the hotel to get to bed. It was great to see everyone up there, and I was excited to be able to hold Josh and Jen's new little baby Hunter. He was adorable. I always have so much fun when we go to Burley. I wish we could go up there more often!!!

Ryker has much more fun in the hot tub than he does in the pool. He must take after his mother.

Ryker got Shrek bubble bath, Scooby Doo stickers, and Shrek fruit snacks from Aunt Andrea for his present from our game at Wal-mart.

Rylee (Nick and Farelyn's little girl) picked out a motorcycle toy for Canyon for his present. He loved it.

Farting Bear...

So my sister Sandy who lives in Georgia, always finds the most awesome gifts. She sent my dad a very unique egg separator. It looks like a mug in the shape of an old man's head. You open an egg into it, and the egg whites come out the guys nose, and the yolk sinks to the bottom of the cup. The kids thought that was great. She also sent my dad a remote control farting bear. My kids thought it was the funniest thing ever. Here's some very short videos of them playing with it. It's kinda hard to hear the bear over my kids.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!!

Today is my dad's 71st birthday. We went and visited him on Sunday for his big day. A few of us went in together to get him a portable fireplace that's he's been wanting forever. The batteries in my camera died, so I didn't get very many good pictures, but here's what I got.

Future Firemen

This week was Fire Prevention week. We went to the Sunset City Fire Station's open house last night, and the kids had a ton of fun. The kids got to tour the fire engines and an ambulance. They also had the "Fire Safety Trailer" there (or whatever it's called). It's a trailer filled with fog like stuff that looked and smelled like smoke. They take the kids in and have them get on their hands and knees and show them how to feel their way out of a burning house. Hopefully the kids remember that in case they ever need to do it. They also had a little fire pit that the kids could use an extinguisher and put a fire out. I think the best part of the night for the kids was watching the LifeFlight helicopter land. Once the helicopter had landed, they let all the kids go look inside and ask the crew questions. The entire night was very eventful and educational.

Ready for School

Ryker has to get ready for school everyday just like Canyon. He gets his backpack on, and we walk (or drive) to drop Canyon off. Usually when we get home he takes his backpack off. I went out in the living room when it was about time to go pick Canyon up, and Ryker still had his backpack on. He can't wait until it's his turn to go to school. Won't he make cure Kindergartener???

First Day of School

I know these are a little late since he's been in school for almost a month now, but here's the pics of Canyon's first day of school. He's really enjoying school, and of course his favorite part is recess. Big surprise huh?? His teacher's name is Mrs. Smith. The first day of school didn't seem to phase him any, but it was much harder for me than I expected it to be. I can't believe how fast he's growing up. He'll be having his 6th birthday at the end of the month. If anyone has good suggestions on where to have a birthday party, please send me a note.

Flustered Beginning...

So...i have no idea what I'm doing, but I'm going to attempt to creat a blog. I think I'm the only person on earth that doesn't have one. I've been trying to add backgrounds and what not, and I'm starting to get very frustrated. Hopefully with my friend Holly's help I'll be able to get it done!!! I might give up again if it doesn't get easier soon.
